Os americanos (e nós não ficamos atrás) adoram uma sigla e, devido a isso, frequentemente não entendemos determinado texto porque não conseguimos imaginar o que uma sigla representa. Pois não é que até já inventaram uma sigla para denominar a maravilha brasileira que é a nossa suspeitíssima urna eletrônica?
BEBB stands for Brazilian Electronic Ballot Box.
Fiquei sabendo, através de um programa da JUST TV, o seguinte:
There is strong evidence regarding the lack of transparency in the use of the Brazilian electronic ballot box, once they (the BEBBs) don’t create the VVPAT and don’t match with the Publicity Principle (according to Germany’s Supreme Court jurisprudence). Many complaints of errors in the electronic votes counting are made at each election, but they are not investigated because, in Brazil, the electoral administrators accumulate the function of judges of the Supreme Court, which results in the authoritarianism in the electoral process”.
VVPAT stands for Voter Verifiable Print Audit Trail.
PODE??? Claro que pode. Porque não haveríamos de confiar nas autoridades que levaram o Brasil, desde sua fundação por Ignatius I em 2003, a se tornar a 5ª potência econômica mundial com o “honroso” 84º lugar no Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano?

Ainda sobre siglas: em inglês, referimo-nos a elas como INITIALS. Existem também outros dois termos. Ambos são cognatos (cognato é um par de palavras, uma em cada idioma, que significa aquilo que as palavras aparentam ser; no nosso caso, aquilo que aparentam ser para nós que falamos português): SIGLUM (sing.); SIGLA (pl.).
A outra dupla de cognatos é ACRONYM, que significa ACRÔNIMO.

NINJA – esta palavra tornou-se sigla e ficou ainda mais popular devido à crise de 2008. Descreve um indivíduo que não (no) tem renda (income), que não (no) tem trabalho (job) nem bens (assets). Descreve aqueles indivíduos que se aventuraram em financiamentos (de casas), mas que não tinham condições de pagar a amortização do empréstimo.
No Income, No Job and Assets = NINJA.
Uma hipoteca concedida a um indivíduo em tais condições é descrita como uma ninja mortgage.
